Castle rock beach

Castle rock beach, a reminder of summers past and that this cool, damp weather is only temporary!  Castle rock beach is next to the more popular Meelup but just as nice. Both are in the Cape Naturaliste region to the north of Margaret river, close to Dunsborough. The scene looks out across Geographe bay, calm and sheltered waters of the Indian ocean. This was taken whilst my kids were playing just out of frame to the left. We were one of only a handful of folks on the beach that morning and it was a fantastic final day of our summer holiday.

I worked on this yesterday for a 100x50cm canvas print for my wall. I’d previously done some work on a picture I’d taken in January , but this has turned out better I think. The RAW conversion and processing through Lightroom has made the difference and the colours are more vibrant. More like I remember the scene…
