Day 129. Victor the Grant

Detail of the front sprocket of an M3 Grant tank, named “Victor”.I stumbled across the tank and a few others for the first time yesterday after a wrong turning. Almost 7 years here and I didn’t realise this was just down the road from me. I bumped into another pom who was looking at the tanks and he told me that he’d not realised it was here either, and had seen it on a map.

Anyway, Victor is in the courtyard of the Army Museum of Western Australian. Worth a look if you like that sort of thing, and perhaps if you don’t as its interesting historically and doesn’t seem to glorify war as other museums can do. The volunteer who came out and chatted to me and the kids was fantastic. Thanks Mr Coventry.
