Father and son Blue wren. Whilst trying to take pictures of Emu wrens at Sugarloaf Rock, I couldn’t help but pause and follow this family of Blue wrens. I haven’t been able to snap two males together before but this group seemed very close and before long two of them moved closer and began to preen each other. The two were slightly different, a young bird and an older larger male. Then after a few seconds, the younger male was bumped off the perch by a female, maybe his mum. The couple then went through the same preening process before the older male showed off on another perch close by. I couldn’t have had a better pose, on a perfect branch and distant drab background that blurred into a backdrop I couldn’t have bettered.
