Day 86. On the way to the NT

Its just over 4000km from Perth to Darwin, traversing our continent almost from bottom to top. So once over the Perth hills the patchwork quilt of WA’s wheat belt stretches to the horizon, but quickly gives way to desert. Not quite the red centre, but not much different, and it goes on, and on, and on…… Once into the tropics, the clouds change and big anvils and storm heads dominate the sky, before flying over the wetlands of the Northern Territory and into Darwin.
