Day 35. Cockatoo landing

Black Cockatoo landing

A Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banksii naso) landing on a gum tree in the garden next door. A group of a dozen appear at the same time each year and noisily breakfast on the nuts/fruit. I’ve taken better pics of them but its fun to see such a big bird try and land on a twig like this female did.

These amazing birds are vulnerable because of habitat loss, and we need to save them.
